The Christian Democrats in Finland chose a new party leadership in their bi-annual party congress just a few days ago.

The party is led by Sari Essayah, who is the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry in the Finnish government.

Three Vice Chairs were chosen by the Party Congress: Mika Poutala, Minister for European Affairs, Culture and Sports; Sirpa Pursiainen-Hautala from Tampere and Dr. Susanna Kokkonen from Helsinki.

The Christian Democrats want to ensure that the Finnish democratic society is built on Christian values.
